indeed pleasure to put forth that IPS (North East Zone) is organizing Zonal Symposium on “Plant Disease Management
for Sustainable Crop Production” from 2-3 December, 2023 (Virtual
mode) at Department of Plant Pathology, College of Agriculture, Central
Agricultural University, Imphal. The organizing committee awaits your gracious
presence in the symposium.
Healthy
plants provide healthy production resultant to healthy life. Plant
Pathologist’s are always concerned to devise suitable management strategies for
healthy plants to increase production. The nature gives choice to manage these
plant diseases incurred by numerous biotic and abiotic factors which are
myriad. Physical, cultural, biological, and chemical methods are categorized
management methods to hamper the losses. The tremendous advancements in science
and technologies are shaping the plant pathologists to frame new techniques to
suppress the invading pathogens that impart diseases to plants. The diverse
methods of management techniques have imparted plant pathologists with better
future hope. The meticulous efforts of plant pathologists should be flashed and
discoursed. This symposium provides a vibrant platform to all the plant
pathologists to disseminate, meet, greet and frame a network of pathologists
for suitable disease management strategies.

of abstract for oral/poster presentation
There
will be scientific sessions on various topics identified for the conference in
the form of invited lectures and poster presentations. Abstract (250 words
excluding, title, name and affiliation) for the conference should be submitted
through online mode only (https://conference.ipsdis.org). Please contact the Organizing Secretary
(ipsnez2023@gmail.com, nongdren1966@gmail.com) if you don't receive confirmation about the
receipt of your abstract within 10 days. Abstracts will be printed only after
receiving the registration fee. Please
underline the name of the presenter and mention the email ID of the presenting
author. The Scientific Secretariat
reserves the right to edit abstracts if inquired.
How to reach Imphal?
The
Zonal Symposium will be organized at College of Agriculture, CAU, Imphal,
Manipur is located in the North Eastern part of India and shares International
border with Myanmar. Imphal, the state of Manipur is well connected by air with
major cities of India. Three national Highways, viz., NH-39, 53 and 150, crisscross the state connecting all
districts. The venue is located within 10km from Imphal International Airport
and is 3 km from AOC Bus Stand. The weather of Imphal is quite pleasant during
October.

Prof. M.J. Narasimhan Merit Academic Award
Two names will be recommended from zonal level for the final contest at the national level in the Annual Meeting cum National Symposium of the Society. Eligible candidates from North East Zone are invited to participate in this contest. The maximum age for the contestant is 35 years. The contestant has to provide an abstract in 250 words along with brief biodata to the Zonal President/Zonal Councilor (ipsnez2023@gmail.com) before December 25, 2023.
Prof. M.J. Narasimhan Merit Academic Award contest shall be organized during Annual Meeting of the Society. The contestants have to furnish the following certificate:

APS-IPS Travel Sponsorship for Ph.D. students (IPS member) has been instituted by the American Phytopathological Society (APS), USA. The purpose of this award is to encourage Ph.D. students of Plant Pathology of India and to attend the APS Annual Meeting. Students will have to compete at the zonal and national competitions in India. Two names from each zone will be recommended for national-level contest. Names of the national level candidates will be forwarded for final selection by the APS, USA.
Contestants will have to provide an abstract in about 250wordsalongwiththebriefbio-data to the Zonal President/ Zonal Councilor (ipsnez2023@gmail.com) latest by December 25, 2023.
